So anyways, it’s been a looooong time since I’ve written anything in this blog. I’ve been so busy optimizing all these other sites and all these different pages, that I tend to forget to optimize my own stuff. So anyways, I’m going to ramble about “SEO” and “Optimization” etc…for you tech pros, I guess this entry won’t do you any good but for anybody who’s still reading and isn’t asleep from my ranting, if you’re interested well…here’s what it is…SEO is short for search engine optimization. Well SEO is just one part of a whole way to basically market a business, or a blog, or a product….etc. online. It’s a technique that’s part of SEM or (Search Engine Marketing). You have these things called PPC or Pay Per Click too, but we’ll talk about that some other time. So anyways, SEO is a process to basically get your site to show up on search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL….you get the idea. It’s a lot of work. And it’s both an art and a science at the same time. There are tons of companies that provide SEO services, just doing DC SEO or DC Web Design is a handful on my end. A lot of people now begin to realize the importance of having a strong website with today’s economy. A strong website is basically a tool to help businesses or individuals communicate their products, services or both on an online real estate market. It’s like having your very own shop on this virtual mall where consumers, whether it’s seeking knowledge or products or services….the goal is to make sure that your site is visible so that “You” as the expert in your specific field be a relevant source for anyone who seeks the information, product or service that you have to provide. If they “Google” something that’s related to what you have to share, let’s use “dc italian restaurant” and you own an Italian Restaurant that shows up on Google….then they are more likely to click on the link and then visit your restaurant. Whether you own a restaurant, a day care, a yoga place…be an expert in your field online. People will always be thankful that your site will provide the right message that they seek.
